This type of restoration places more responsibility on you but is highly successful as long as they are worn as directed and that you change them out at the designed intervals. The inserts can be replaced at home and do not require any special adhesives or glues to hold them in place.
During your initial visit, our team will make a mold of your teeth. This mold is used to make a series of plastic inserts for your top and bottom set of teeth. These inserts must be replaced at the correct intervals to achieve the desired results. Each set of molds is only slightly different from the last so that it gently repositions your teeth into alignment.
The Invisalign inserts are generally replaced every two weeks indefinitely until your alignment is complete. This program reduces the number of office visits that are necessary with traditional braces. With regular braces, you have to return to our office so that our team can tighten and adjust your braces. Invisalign allows you to simply put in the next set of inserts.
How Long Does Invisalign Take to Work?
The amount of time needed for Invisalign braces to completely align your smile will vary from patient to patient, but the normal amount of time needed ranges from 12 months to 18 months. Our team will monitor your progress at regularly scheduled intervals to ensure that you are progressing as scheduled. Even though the entire process takes a year or more, most patients start noticing improvements in their smile within a few weeks or months of treatment.
